I am delighted to welcome all new and returning students to the Faculty of Law at The Mona Campus of The University of the West Indies. Undoubtedly you have all worked hard to be here so take a minute to pat yourselves on the back but not too much. As you owe much to parents and friends and of course are eternally indebted to the Heavenly Father. And I wouldn’t want you to fall into a state of complacency as you all know with each ascent of the academic ladder the work only intensifies. My experience at the faculty has been a tremendous one and I can only hope that your experience surpasses mine. I have benefited from well qualified faculty members who have improved my learning experience, and I have met many friends and acquaintances who have enhanced my UWI experience. The Journey has been long and winding, from struggling to stay awake in lectures to not understanding a course until the night before the exam. It has been a remarkable journey that is soon to close I hope that you will take full advantage of the resources which have been made available through the Faculty. My parting plea is to Support the Mona Law Society and remember what you put In is what you get out. I wish for you a highly fulfilling year.
